What We Believe
We believe the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, and during this age to convict, regenerate, seal, indwell, guide, instruct and empower the believer for life and service.
We believe man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore lost, and only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained.
We believe the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe, and only such as receive Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit and thus become children of God.
We believe water baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances to be observed by the Church during this age. They are, however, not to be regarded as means of salvation or prerequisites for church membership. (This church shall practice believer’s baptism by immersion.)
We believe the true Church is composed of all such persons who are regenerated by the Holy Spirit through saving faith in Jesus Christ, are united together in the Body of Christ of which He is Lord and Head and are commissioned for the God-given task of proclaiming the gospel to every person. Only those who are thus members of the true Church shall be eligible for membership in the local church. Every local church has the right under Christ to decide and govern its own affairs.
We believe in the personal and imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ, and that this has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer.
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead, of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord, and of the unbeliever to judgment and eternal separation from God.
Meet The Team
President and Founder of No Regrets Men’s Ministry
Highly regarded as one of the pioneers of the men’s ministry movement in America, Steve started one of the first men’s ministries in the country for the growing church population at Elmbrook Church in Brookfield, Wisconsin. His real passion is to see every local church have its own ministry to men. In 1994, he began the annual No Regrets Men’s Conference which today draws thousands of men to the event held at Elmbrook Church and across the country via webcast. Steve also serves as Senior Associate Pastor of Leadership Development at Elmbrook Church and regularly consults and leads seminars in this country and around the world with churches from a wide range of denominations helping to develop and establish local men’s ministries and address leadership issues. Steve has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin—Milwaukee and a Masters of Divinity from Bethel Seminary. Steve and his wife, Colleen, have raised four children and recently became empty nesters. They are proud owners of Misha, a Newfoundlander expected to reach 150 lbs.
Coordinator of No Regrets Men’s Ministry
Chris spent ten years as a teacher and fifteen years as a sales and marketing executive in the paper and packaging industry before being called to develop and lead a disciple making men’s ministry for the Evangelical Free Church of America and founded a new men’s discipleship emphasis called “Men With a Purpose.” He speaks frequently in leadership development, retreat, and conference settings. Chris co-authored Seven Keys to a Highly Successful Ministry to Men for local church men’s leaders. He is a founding member of the National Coalition of Men’s Ministries and serves on the executive leadership team of that organization. His most recent role has been Area Director for Man in the Mirror Ministries, with previous roles as Founder and President of Men With a Purpose as well as several years serving as National Director of Men’s Ministries within the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA). Chris and his wife Shelli have three grown children and three grandchildren. They recently settled in Brookfield, Wisconsin. Chris enjoys hunting, fishing, sailing, and leading men in small group and one-on-one discipling contexts. His real passion though, is helping to lead a disciple making men’s movement across America.
